Eames Children’s Coat Rack

Charles Ormond Eames, Jr. (1907-1978) & Bernice Alexandra “Ray” Kaiser Eames (1912-1988)

This delightful coat rack was designed by Charles and Ray Eames
(C.1953). It was originally marketed as children’s furniture, probably because of it’s playful colours and themes, like planets or molecules. With a thick wire construction, welded together, this playful design is an inexpensive addition to the home of modern design.

Perhaps it is my inner child that likes this design or could it be that good design is ageless. For between AU$100 – AU$60 you can hunt around for a suitable retailer. I have seen it in different colourways, being, dark grey balls and white balls.
